How it works

Choose a list, tick it off, print it

  1. Choose a list

    There are four: launch a new website, local SEO and Google Business Profile, WordPress security, and cookies and privacy. Each list is divided into groups, so you can take one piece at a time.

  2. Tick off at your own pace

    Tap a row to tick it off. Under each item it says why it is there, and often there is a link to a tool or a guide. How far you have got is shown at the top of the list and on the cards above.

  3. Print or copy

    Print a list with your ticks or copy it as text, with [x] for done and [ ] for remaining items, and paste it into an email or a task list.

  • Your ticks are only saved in this browser, on this device. Nothing is sent to us.
  • They are not synced between phone and computer. Each device has its own list.
  • If you clear the browser’s data, or browse in private mode, the ticks disappear.
  • The lists are practical advice, not legal advice. That applies especially to the list on cookies and privacy.

Which checklist should I start with?

It depends on where you stand. If you are about to publish a new website, start with the launch list: it takes you from texts and redirects to measurement and backup. If you already have a site but it is hard to find when customers search for you locally, take the list for local SEO and Google Business Profile.

If you run WordPress, the security list is the one that most often saves the most trouble: it is about updates, login and a backup that can really be restored. The list for cookies and privacy suits everyone who has statistics, forms or embedded services on the site.

The lists are written for small businesses and can be done in stages. Start with what is easy to tick off and then set a date for the rest. At each item there is a link to a tool, a guide or a fixed package when something can help. If you want us to take care of it, that works too.

Questions about the checklists

Are my ticks saved anywhere?

Yes, but only in your own browser, on the device you are using. Nothing is sent to us, and we cannot see what you have ticked. The ticks do not follow you to another device and disappear if you clear the browser’s data or browse in private mode.

Can I print a checklist or send it to someone?

Yes. The Print button gives a clean printout without menu and images, with your ticks and a line about why each item is there. Copy as text puts the list on the clipboard with [x] for done and [ ] for remaining items, so that you can paste it into an email or a task list.

Which items can I skip?

The lists are general, so not every item suits every site. If you do not run WordPress you can skip the security list, and if you have no local customers you do not need the Google Business Profile list. Tick off items that do not apply to you, and you still get a list that can be completed.
