What the chatbot does
A visitor types a question in a box on the website. The chatbot answers from the texts you have supplied: services, prices, opening hours and your common questions. If it cannot answer, the question is passed on to your email, so that you can answer it yourself.
The chatbot introduces itself as an AI. It can answer in the evenings and at weekends too, as long as the chosen chat platform is running. The package does not promise any particular uptime.
It does not book appointments and is not connected to your business system. That is not included in the package.
When a chatbot is not worth it
In these cases it is often better to leave it:
- You get only a few questions a week. Then it takes less time to answer them yourself than to keep a chatbot up to date.
- The answers change often, for example daily prices or free time slots. The chatbot answers from the texts it has been given, so every change means changing the texts.
- A clear page of common questions and a contact form already do the job. That costs less and can be read by everyone.
If customers ask the same questions again and again, and the answers rarely change, there is something for a chatbot to answer.
What you need to keep up afterwards
After launch someone has to make sure the material is still right. That is you, because ongoing content updates are not included in the package.
- The texts. If prices, opening hours or services change, the material has to change too.
- The questions that are passed on. Read them: they show what customers wonder about and what the chatbot has no answer to.
- The answers. Ask a few questions yourself now and then, and always after a price change. An answer can sometimes be wrong.
- The monthly fee. You pay the fee for the AI service or chat platform directly to the provider.
Personal data in a chat
Visitors can type personal data into a chat, for example a name, an email address or details of an order. The website then needs to say what is stored and for how long, and the chat service is normally a processor acting for you. Texts on privacy and cookies are not included in the package, and we give no legal advice. The rules are with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
